Many have felt Masham has been a cash and banking desert in recent times, especially local retailers and anyone without time or transport to get out of town.

Now it’s official – a recent LINK Cash Access Review, carried out at MCO’s request, found Masham needs a Cash Hub. This is a new model of services from Cash Access UK, a not-for-profit organisation that is funded by the banks. Services include:
• Depositing cheques and cash – both notes and coins
• Withdrawing cash – both notes and coins
• Checking your bank balance
• Paying your utility bills
• Topping up gas and electricity
• Accessing change-giving services (for registered businesses)

All services will be assisted by a member of staff and available 5 days a week. It’s coming soon to Masham which is great news. Watch out for further information, updates and answers to questions as plans progress.
