Join the Royal British Legion in Masham on Sunday 8 November as our town comes together to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday service will be joined by 3 Medical Regiment, Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC), from Catterick Garrison, making it a particularly special occasion for our community.
The commemorations will begin with wreath laying at the White Bear Memorial at 10am, followed by a further wreath laying at Masham Town Hall at 10.15am.
The main Remembrance ceremony will take place in Masham Market Square, with everyone asked to be in position by 10.50am. The Last Post will be sounded at 10.59am, followed by the two-minute silence at 11am, before the Roll of Honour, Exhortation, Kohima Epitaph and wreath laying.
At approximately 11.15am, a procession led by the Army will make its way to St Mary’s Church for the service.
Following the service, there will be a march past the dais outside The King’s Head, with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant taking the salute. Members of the public are warmly invited to line the route and join in showing their appreciation.
Whether you are visiting Masham for the weekend or live locally, everyone is welcome to come together and pay their respects on this important day of remembrance.
