26 Feb 2026

Our town has a story to tell and it’s anything but ordinary… Find ways to discover more about our rich history here in Masham and across North Yorkshire, thanks to our Peculier Guided History Tours, The Masham History Group, Masham Library and the North Yorkshire Archives.

Peculier Guided History Tours

Thanks to the Masham History Group and our knowledgeable local tour guides, we offer 1.5 hours stroll through the stories, characters and moments that have shaped this remarkable town.

The cost is just £10 per person or £30 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) and the funds raised go to Masham Charities.

The walking trail is also available to do self-guided but the Tour will take you deeper and provide entertainment along the way, with a bit of extra local insight.

The next available guided tour is on Saturday 7 March but dates are now booked in the diary until late June, click here to explore all upcoming dates, make a booking or find out more.

Local History Groups & Library Archives

The Masham Local History Group is a local heritage project, established to gather and protect historical data and images to celebrate and discover things about our unique Mashamshire heritage.

They work with other local areas, making it even more accessible to join a group, including Dallowgill, Upper Dales and Grewelthorpe.

Along with the Masham Library Archives, this provides access to many valuable resources for tracing ancestry, browsing newspaper articles, architectural interests and more.
