Everyday tech support – or is it?

25 Feb 2026

A day in the life of our “Digital Champions” is an interesting insight into just how digitally enabled we are all having to be as suppliers switch their services to online to be more efficient – whilst making our lives ever so much harder!

Our Digital Champions are here to make sure that you do not have to struggle with everyday technology problems that can easily be fixed with a quick chat or a home visit. So if you are tearing your hair out with printers that won’t connect or emails that no longer work (amongst many other things) then why not drop into one of the Digital Champions surgeries in Masham Library or Grewelthorpe Village Hall.

They can help with lots of everyday tasks – that are sometime too tricky for us to sort, from the Mundane to the rather less ordinary.

Or Keeping Safe!
If you are dragging your heels on upgrading your technology because you are slightly worried about how to keep everything safe whilst you are online, the team can also help guide you on how to be more security conscious when using devices and when travelling.

From the Mundane!

From setting up equipment such as iPads, iPhones or smartwatches and emails or managing password changes. They can even help with your apps or questions around.

Facebook/Instagram. They do a lot of home visits to help with hardware issues such as printer or desktop setup, the digital switchover has meant a lot more support around routers. Or kit on home networks including Smart TV’s external security /video cameras or doorbells. The list is endless…..

To the Extraordinary

There are some rather more unusual requests, but the team love a good challenge and apparently never disappoint!

“We recently helped a lady in Grewelthorpe who is mad about knitting and was using her electronic knitting machine using patterns from her laptop. She had quite a lot of old patterns on CD’s – so we helped her setup a folder and copy them across so she can now knit her favourite patterns directly from her laptop!
