Supporting Our Mental Health

Supporting our mental health makes it easier coping with life’s challenges. Anything we can do to keep ourselves on an even keel helps us deal with problems like bereavement, change and uncertainty or new experiences. Having good mental health is a priority for all of us.
As well as looking after yourself, other help is available…
One to One Support from MIND
MIND in Harrogate District provide a mental health outreach hub at Mashamshire Community Hub every Friday from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
Suitable for low-level mental health problems, we offer:
- Information on mental health conditions, including coping tips.
- Assistance in finding groups and activities to improve social connections.
- Signposting and referrals to other helpful services, such as befriending or counselling.
You need to pre-book these pre-planned local sessions to get advice and signposting plus help you with recovery – support planning, recovery focused activities. Individual appointments are available but need to be pre-booked directly via email: kirsty@mindinharrogate.org.uk

Mental Health First Aid Training from MIND
MIND supports people in rural areas to achieve the best possible mental health. They have delivered multiple mental health first aid training courses in Masham (alongside our Route One to Wellness Partner, Wellspring Therapy and Training). These courses equip participants with the knowledge and skills to recognise signs of poor mental health, feel confident to start a conversation, and direct individuals to appropriate support, helping to build supportive communities and workplaces where people feel they can be open about their mental health.
Contact Mashamshire Community Hub if you would like to express an interest in future courses.
