Governance & Legal

Mashamshire Community Office is an independent registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We are led by a board of Trustees, made up of local people, who are all unpaid. The Board is responsible for overseeing the achievement of MCO goals and objectives and ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with all its legal and statutory responsibilities.
Governance
MCO is an inclusive organisation and as such free membership is open to all residents of Mashamshire aged over 18. Membership conveys voting rights on decisions taken at the Annual General Meeting. Please get in touch if you would like to to be registered as a member. All volunteers are registered members automatically.
The Trustees are selected according to their skills and expertise. Three Trustees are required to stand down at each AGM. They may stand again for reappointment if appropriate and must serve no more than three terms. Nominations for the chair can be made at the AGM each year. Full board meetings take place every two months and more regular sub-groups take initiatives forward as required.
Annual General Meetings

Mashamshire Community Office Annual General Meeting takes place in the final quarter of the calendar year. The more people get involved the better!
