Shopping & Prescriptions
Shopping and prescriptions collection help from Mashamshire Community Hub volunteers, proved essential for many vulnerable or shielding people during Covid. We can still help. If you have a problem with your usual arrangements for prescription or shopping collection, or you are temporarily unable to get out of the house, please get in touch.
We have volunteers willing to step in to help out in the short term. Though we are unable to provide permanent help, if you do need ongoing support, we can help you to find a longer term solution. If you know someone who you think is generally struggling with daily living then please get in touch.
How it works
If you are in need of a prescription or shopping collection, get in touch. Our volunteer would then contact you and arrange collection with you directly. However, our volunteers are not able to handle cash or payment for you. This means you should arrange payment with the shop directly over the phone.
If the support is ongoing, we would need to help you find a more permanent solution.

If you know someone who may be struggling with daily living, North Yorkshire Council’s Adult Social Care team can provide help, advice and support as needed. We can make referrals to Adult Social Care for an assessment, but so can a family member, friend or neighbour. An individual can also request help themselves.
