Support Available for Local Youth Projects

2 Jul 2025

Are you thinking of starting a youth club or developing an existing one? North Yorkshire Youth can provide the support you need.

Our Youth & Community Development Team offers tailored advice and hands-on guidance to help create, grow and sustain volunteer-led youth clubs and projects across the Harrogate District. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to build on something already in place, they can offer expert advice and support.

How They Can Help:

North Yorkshire Youth can assist with:

  • Setting up and managing a youth club committee
  • Understanding key policies, procedures and essential paperwork
  • Accessing flexible training and practical how-to guides
  • Generating creative ideas for fun and engaging youth activities
  • Writing strong funding applications
  • Making links with other youth groups in your area
  • Offering safeguarding advice and support with DBS checks

Every youth project is unique, so their support is always tailored to your group’s needs. You also have the chance to access resources like issue-based activity packs, discounted stays and activity days at Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre, and opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills through non-formal accreditation.

Direct Delivery & Hands-On Support

In addition to supporting volunteer-led clubs, the North Yorkshire Youth team also works directly with 17 youth projects across North Yorkshire. This includes:

  • Help with planning and delivering youth sessions
  • Staffing support and developing community partnerships
  • Offering safe, positive spaces with games, sports, workshops and outreach activities
  • Encouraging youth voice and leadership development
