Learning for Work

Living in a remote community makes it hard for people of any age to access good learning opportunities for work. Whether its skills at the start of their working lives, or skills for people who need to improve their performance or prospects at work, or its at a point where they change career direction or establish their own business.
We aim to help where we can. Below you will find a range of information which we will aim to develop further.
Apprenticeships
There has never been a better time to consider applying for an apprenticeship. These can range from Business skills, Early Years, Travel and Teaching to Equine Care and more.
Apprenticeships are increasingly being recognised as a real alternative to traditional education routes and the range of apprenticeship qualifications goes to degree level and beyond.
Who can do an apprenticeship?
You can start an apprenticeship if you’re:
- 16 or over – there’s no upper age limit
- Not in education (full or part-time)

Mashamshire Community Office has sought to improve access to important training for our community – whether it’s businesses, charities or community groups. We all have some common training needs for example…
- First Aid Training
- Mental Health Awareness Training
- Safeguarding
- Social Media Marketing
- SEO tips for Website Development
- Understanding the Benefits of AI
We can arrange in person workshops if there is a common demand and then promote the workshop to other local organisations.
This means not having to cover the time and additional expense of sending people away for training, it means we get the benefit of in-person training rather than online, resulting in improved retention and greater impact.
Watch out for news of local training. If you have any requests, please let us know below.
